Air Combat in the Jet Age
Birds of Prey: Air Combat in the Jet Age is the main game system product in the Birds of Prey line.
Birds of Prey is a revolutionary jet combat game simulating flight with unprecedented precision and engrossing play. The Birds of Prey flight mechanics create realistic three dimensional movement without need of special maneuver rules. Physics-based systems model aircraft performance differences simply and correctly through elegant playaids: graphical computers known as nomographs. Missiles pursue targets without player intervention, with proper kinematics from launch and flowing seamlessly in the flight engine.
The lavishly illustrated tutorial guides you through learning the game, with the rulebook only used as a concise reference.
Laminated playaids use color coding and subtle cues to keep the rulebook in the box during play!
Birds of Prey: Air Combat in the Jet Age includes color data cards for twenty-four aircraft spanning the era from the dawn of jet combat to modern conflicts. Data cards for twenty-four missiles complement the fighters, giving aircraft teeth well outside of cannon range!
1:950th scale box-miniatures bring these aircraft to life, and tilt-blocks and altitude tiles give players an unprecedented situational awareness of the
three-dimensional battle!
On top of a revolutionary flight engine, Birds of Prey models the human aspects of air combat, showing how crews struggle to master the rapidly changing tactical situation, while also operating complex sensors, weapons and defensive systems and coping with the weight of high G-force
maneuvers. Birds of Prey shows the differences between the old hands and green “nugget” aviators, and portrays the benefits of highly automated modern cockpits over older steam-gauge layouts.

Birds of Prey: Air Combat in the Jet Age is offered in three versions, standard for $74.95, expanded for $89.95 and deluxe for $119.95.
The standard edition (ADA 31000) contains two each of two sheets of die-cut box-miniatures, missile tents and counters and one sheet of uncut flat aircraft counters and one sheet of uncut aircraft ID counters. (Six sheets total.) It also contains one each of the blue-side and red side laminated Aircraft Control Cards (two ACC total) and a grayscale printed tutorial.
The expanded edition (ADA 31000-Expanded) contains four each of the two die-cut sheets and one each of the two uncut sheet. (Ten sheets total.)
